Boomer Rocket Team Update

March 13, 2018

We here at the Boomer Rocket Team hope you've been having a great 2018. We've been hard at work on our competition rocket, and we have some updates for you on our progress. All preliminary design for the rocket is finished, and we are well into the manufacturing stages of production. We recently hit a big milestone when we completed our payload section! The attached pictures show the finished product as well as some during manufacturing. This part was contributed to by all of our amazing members. While the payload section is a large part of the rocket, we still have a long ways to go. As always, we'll be posting updates on our Facebook page, and we encourage you to like us at to keep up to date.

We still can't thank you enough for your support. It's because of you that we are able to build this rocket and represent OU to the best of our abilities.

We'll be continuing production and have more updates and progress for you soon!

Thank you!

December 09, 2017

Our campaign has officially ended and we at BRT would like to thank each and every one of you who contributed to our campaign. Our final tally is $2,700 dollars! With this money we'll be able to compete this coming summer and represent OU and the Gallogly College to the international community as a world class institution.

This isn't the end though! We'll be keeping you updated here as to the progress of the team as well as on our Facebook page, so look forward to that!

We have a lot of work left to do but with your help we'll be able to accomplish it. Now upwards and onwards!

Thank you so much once again,

Boomer Rocket Team

Almost There!

November 30, 2017

We'd like to update you on the status of Boomer Rocket Team's Thousands Strong campaign. With your help we've raised over $2110, or 70% of our goal! Thanks to your support we're well on our way.

The team has been working hard this semester and we're currently working on the design of our competition rocket, as well as building a smaller group rocket so everyone can get experience with the manufacturing process. With the support from Thousands Strong we'll be able to buy the parts necessary for building our competition rocket as well as pay for various parts of the trip to the competition!

Now that we're in the home stretch it's important that everyone has eyes on our campaign, so please share it! And to those of you who have shared it, thank you very much.

We still can't express the amount of thanks we have for our donors and for the support you've shown. Now to finish this campaign!

Halfway Through!

November 22, 2017

Our Thousands Strong campaign is now halfway through, and with your help we've raised over $940, or 31% of our goal. We'd like to thank you so much for this, and we're on our way to being able to build our rocket and travel to the SpacePort America Cup.

With around 2 weeks left to go, we still need your help to reach our goal. Please share our campaign on social media and tell your friends and family about us!

Boomer Rocket Team would also like to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving, especially since you're part of our OU family!

Thank you, and Boomer Sooner

One Week!

November 15, 2017

Hi, we here at the Boomer Rocket Team wanted to update you on the status of our Thousands Strong campaign.

We're officially one week into our campaign and have raised 22% of our goal with 9 donors. We'd like to thank each and every one of you for donating and believing in us.

But our work isn't done yet! We still have a long ways to reach our goal, and still need your help! A great way to help us is to share our campaign on social media for all to see. The more eyes we get on our campaign, the better we'll do!

Once again, if you've donated or shared our campaign, thank you so much. We wouldn't be able to do what we do without your support. We're incredibly excited here at BRT to see what the rest of this campaign holds and how far we'll fly!

Thank you, and Boomer Sooner

Choose a giving level

Basic Materials

Epoxy, screws, nuts, bolts; if it attaches, the BRT probably uses a lot of it. Individually, these items are cheap, but over the year they add up fast! Your donation could buy epoxy or screws for our competition rocket.

Body Tube

The body of the rocket must be strong enough to support the force of launch and lightweight enough so as not to drag us down. Your contribution could help us buy a strong enough body tube for the task.

Some would say the flashiest part of a rocket, fins keep the rocket stable in flight and allow us to soar. Your donation could buy one of our fins to help keep us on track.

Although unexciting, travel costs will be one of the most expensive parts of the competition. The launch takes place over 3 days in New Mexico; travel donations will help pay for gas, food, and hotel rooms so we can be our best during competition.

Payload Supplies

Part of the competition is to fly with a ten pound scientific payload. Your generous donation will help us design and build an experiment to fit in our rocket and fly to 10,000 feet collecting scientific data.

Rocket Motor

Rocket fuel is without a doubt the most expensive part of rocketry. Your generous donation could buy a rocket motor, which will allow us an additional test flight before competition.
