Send the OU Hockey Team to Nationals
Founded in 2003, The Oklahoma Hockey team gives young student athletes a chance to pursue their higher education, as well as playing quality college hockey. Oklahoma Hockey is classified as a club team that competes in the division I level of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA). Although the team is classified as club, we do not operate similar to the way that other OU clubs do. Our athletic conference is different from the standard Big 12 that most Oklahoma fans are used to. OU hockey competes in the Western Collegiate Hockey League (WCHL) which consists of schools from Tucson, Arizona to Fayetteville, Arkansas. There is a national tournament in March every year that moves around the country with this year's being hosted in Columbus, Ohio. The Sooners have qualified for the tournament for an ACHA record of 13 straight times.
Our goal is to raise a portion of the funds that it takes for us to make the trip to the National Championship tournament in March. The campaign goal is $5,000 and our overall goal is $16,000. The Oklahoma hockey team tries to play the most competitive schedule possible to measure our team against the nation’s best. Playing the nation’s best requires the team to travel to play other schools, some close and some far. Travel expenses such as meals on the road are provided through the fees that each player pays and donations. Most trips require overnight accommodation which is also included in the fees. Oklahoma hockey is eager to get back to nationals to bring OU a national championship. Without fundraising for travel expenses, we could not have the ability to travel to Columbus to compete.
Thank you so much for your support! Please help share our campaign through your social media and with your friends and family. We appreciate our OU Hockey family! Boomer Sooner!
