Since 1910, more than 10,000 physicians have graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, and more than half live and practice right here in Oklahoma! Today, the OU College of Medicine is stronger than ever with 1,260 faculty, 660 medical students, and 764 residents and fellows in 78 specialty and subspecialties.
Funding for student scholarships is the top priority for OU College of Medicine. OU Giving Day donations will support the Second Century Scholarship. Started in 2010, the Second Century Scholarship is aimed at increasing the amount and number of scholarship awards each year. Awards are both need and merit based. The cost of medical school is the number one concern of students admitted to our program.
Contributing to medical student scholarships is one of the most meaningful ways to support the OU College of Medicine.
Your support plays a significant role in helping young people earn a medical education. Scholarship funds allow the college to attract outstanding students who might otherwise choose a medical school out of state, and they ensure no hard-working student is turned away because of finances. Our goal is to be able to award larger, recurring scholarships. This eases the burden for students so they can focus on their studies.
The cost of earning a medical education is high – the indebtedness of today’s students upon graduation can be $150,000 or more. Scholarships are the most direct way of giving the gift of education to deserving and talented students.
Scholarship recipients will become tomorrow’s clinicians, researchers and medical educators, continuing the long legacy of OU graduates making a difference in the world. Thank you for your consideration of a gift toward scholarships and for supporting our future physicians.

Raising $5,000 in one day is a daunting task, unless you have great alumni and friends who support you along the way! Thanks for helping our cause and please share with family, friends, colleagues and other alumni.
