Thank you for attending Crimson & Queens 2021. We hope you enjoy your time with us. Thank you for considering supporting the LGBTQ+ programs at the Gender + Equality Center.
Top initiatives of the LGBTQ+ programs include:
· LGBTQ+ Program Advisory Board - Our goal is for all students to feel safe, included and empowered to succeed at the University of Oklahoma. We will reach this goal by maintaining an intersectional lens as we foster LGBTQ+ leadership, provide opportunities for community and build awareness of LGBTQ+ issues on campus. We host a wide variety of events, including Crimson & Queens - the largest drag show in the state of Oklahoma.
· LGBTQ+ Mentorship Program - We have connected over 120 alumni and undergraduate students to a supportive and affirming network so they have ample resources to better navigate the collegiate environment, as well as their chosen professional field.
· LGBTQ+ Aspiring Ally - Started nearly 13 years ago, our ally training was designed with the intent to change the culture on campus, one person at a time. To date, we have educated over 9,000 people about LGBTQ+ identities, experiences and ways to show support. Our ally program has been received with open arms in a variety of ways and continues to grow! We are now a fundamental part of multiple degree programs and offer ally training to various Greek chapters, and our outreach extends to our Oklahoma City and Tulsa campuses.
