Who are we?
The College of Arts and Sciences serves over 10,000 students, has more than 86,000 graduates, and offers more than 60 majors and 60 minors. We are the largest and most diverse college at the University of Oklahoma with 31 departments and programs. Since 1892, the College of Arts and Sciences is committed to student success in the classroom and beyond.
What is our project?
Each year, we learn of students facing situations outside of their control that result in an unexpected financial burden. Such trials can include a parent losing their job, an unexpected death in the family, a medical emergency, or any crisis that hinders students and their ability to pay for college. These students are now worrying about bursar statements going unpaid, holds on enrollment, and the inability to apply for previous scholarships or awards. The Emergency Scholarship Fund was created to help students during these difficult times.
Since March 1, 2019, we’ve given over $20,000 to students because of your generosity. However, we know that there are still many students we haven’t yet reached. Your gift will impact not only their journey here at OU, but open up doors after graduation.
How can you help us make a lasting impact?
With your support, the Emergency Scholarship Fund allows faculty and staff in the College of Arts and Sciences to empower students who are experiencing such hardships. The Emergency Fund helps alleviate the burden of unexpected financial setbacks that could possibility prevent students from graduating on time or at all. The College of Arts and Sciences can help more students like Alexis, Maduo, and Pedro if you join this campaign through giving and by spreading the word. Donating any amount will make a lasting impact. We are better together.
How can you help us spread the word?
We want to share our mission with as many people as possible and we need your help! Please share this link to your friends, families, and colleagues or share our page on social media. You will impact lives by supporting this campaign and we would love for you to be a part of this incredible cause.
