When I started this student organization in the fall of 2018 I did not know the impact it would have in such a short period of time. The idea behind starting the student organization and the recovery meeting on campus was and is, all in the effort to normalize recovery on campus. Our goal is to develop a collegiate recovery program with hopes in offering dedicated space, scholarships and on campus sober living. CRPs transform the lives of students who are in recovery or seeking recovery and not only that it also transforms their families as well. Addiction can be a life halting, destructive and ugly disease that can affect anyone at anytime. Colleges and Universities around the country can oftentimes be a breeding ground for addiction to start and students academic careers put on hold. CRPs offer a supportive solution for students and for people wanting to come back to college who are in recovery an opportunity to engage with a recovery community on campus.
Your donations will help in our overall mission to see the development and establishment of a collegiate recovery program at the University of Oklahoma. We are working hard with Student Affairs and other colleges on campus to see how this will fit into the culture of our university. It is my hope and dream that we will bear witness to this life changing program in the near future. On behalf of the Students in Recovery team, thank you again for your generosity and forward thinking. Together we recover!
We have one day remaining for donations, if you know anyone who would be willing to donate to our cause please send them our website link by copying and pasting it to your email or send it in a text message. You can also post the link on your social media page as well!
